Winter sleeping bag rental for a winter trek in Urho Kekkonen National Park is available through us. We rent warm, high-quality, military-grade Carinthia Defence 6 four-season, winter-rated sleeping bags—exceptionally capable bags for cold winter conditions. The bag features a three-layer “sandwich” construction for optimal warmth. The outer shell has a fine micro-structure coating that makes it water-repellent. A dedicated draft strip runs the full length of the zipper to prevent heat loss.
The special G-LOFT ISO+ synthetic insulation works similarly to premium down. Thanks to the manufacturing method, the fibers keep their loft even when the bag is stored in its compression sack. The Defence 6 also has a purpose-built cut: while your body compresses the inner insulation layer when you lie down, the bag still retains its thermal performance. The insulation layers are cut generously to keep fibers in place in all areas and sleeping positions. Because there are two separate insulation layers, only the inner layer compresses; the outer layer maintains its shape—and therefore excellent insulation.
An ultra-light, soft and breathable Thermoflect mesh reflects body heat back to you, improving heat retention by about 11%. The spacious footbox keeps toes warm, and there’s ample room at the head end to stash, for example, boots or an extra clothing layer.
Mummy shape.
With G-LOFT Plus, the insulation is not stitched to the outer fabric; instead, the shell floats separately. This allows air to accumulate between the shell and insulation, further improving warmth. Because there is no quilting on the shell, it is relatively water- and air-tight.
The sleeping bag has a two-way zipper. The upper slider opens smoothly without snagging—so you can exit the bag quickly if needed. The lower slider works like a standard zipper and can be opened for extra ventilation.
